Top News and Magazines Apps on Android in South America, Q4 2024

In the fourth quarter of 2024, several news and magazines applications on the Android platform showed notable performance across South America. Here's a closer look at the top five apps based on their trends in weekly downloads, revenue, and active users.

X (Formerly Twitter) from X Corp. saw a significant increase in weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $53.2K in early December. Downloads experienced a steady rise, reaching around 192.9K by late December. The app maintained a strong base of weekly active users, fluctuating around 29.7M.

Notícias Locais by NEWSDELIVER LIMITED had a minimal revenue stream, with slight variations throughout the quarter. Downloads decreased over time, starting at 77.2K and tapering off to 39K. However, weekly active users showed an upward trend, closing the year at about 838.9K.

O Trabalhador maintained a consistent presence with no revenue reported. Downloads initially peaked at 82.3K in October but saw a gradual decline, ending the quarter at 19.2K. Active users followed a similar pattern, with numbers settling at 57.8K by December's end.

Consulta Benefício from Tazoa Apps, also reported no revenue. Downloads peaked at 45.6K in mid-October, then gradually declined before a slight recovery to 29.5K at year-end. Active users decreased significantly, starting at 120.3K and dropping to 69.6K.

G1 Portal de Notícias da Globo did not generate revenue but maintained a substantial number of downloads and active users. Downloads began at 198.8K but declined significantly, ending at 3.9K. Active users decreased from 3.2M to just over 2.1M by the end of December.
